Nancy Cox is the Mary Phillips Edmonds Gray Professor of Genetics and Director of the Vanderbilt Genetics Institute and the Division of Genetic Medicine at Vanderbilt. She is a quantitative human geneticist with a long history of research in identifying and characterizing the genetic component to common human diseases and related complex traits. A recent focus of her lab has been on developing ways to use information on genome function to enhance analyses associating genome variation to disease. She is also interested in the intersection of genome science with electronic health records in large-scale biobanks.
